Chris Rice

M.Div. Candidate (Duke Divinity School); B.A. (Middlebury College and Belhaven College).

Mr. Rice's scholarly interests include Racial Reconciliation and Christian Community. He coauthored the book, More Than Equals: Racial Healing for the Sake of the Gospel (InterVarsity Press, 1993), with Spencer Perkins. Mr. Rice has also written numerous articles that have appeared in Christianity Today, Sojourners, The Other Side, The Christian Reader, Discipleship Journal, Urban Family Magazine and Regeneration Quarterly. He is currently writing a memoir of his experience living in an interracial Christian community in Mississippi, to be published by Jossey-Bass in fall, 2002.

Mr. Rice lived and worked in an inner-city neighborhood in Jackson, Mississippi for 17 years as part of the interracial congregation, Voice of Calvary. During this time, he and his family lived for 12 years as founding members of an interracial, intentional Christian community called Antioch. Mr. Rice and his wife Donna, a home health nurse, have three children: Benjamin, Talia, and Christopher.
