Victoria Gray Adams

Victoria Jackson Gray Adams was an American civil rights activist from Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was one of the founding members of the influential Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party. Adams died in August 2006. Listen to a news report reflecting on her life and legacy here.

Adams was a COLT speaker and participated in the Conference on Lived Theology and Civil Courage. She also gave a guest lecture, entitled “Learning the Language of Peace,” in Charles Marsh’s 2005 course.
