Mark Gornik was the founding pastor of New Song Community Church in Sandtown (Baltimore) and is currently is the Director of City Seminary of New York, as well as a member of the Virginia Seminar. Mark is the author of To Live in Peace: Biblical Faith and the Changing Inner City(Eerdmans, 2002) and has a Ph.D. from the Centre for the Study World Christianity, New College, University of Edinburgh.
New Song Sandtown takes a holistic approach to neighborhood development known as "church-based Christian community development (CCDA)." In Excluded Neighborhoods, Gornik considers Sandtown "emblematic of the changing city".
