The Experience of God: Being, Consciousness, Bliss (video)

Posted on May 4, 2015 by PLT Staff

Lecture given by David Bentley Hart at the Bonhoeffer House in Charlottesville, Virginia. Hart speaks on his book, The Experience of God: Being, Consciousness, Bliss, a book of general metaphysics which is not confined to Christian tradition. Excerpt: “There’s something in our most primordial apprehension of what is—our encounter with everything—that, followed to its end, leads to these affirmations about God in a quite continuous, logical way. It also, and this is sort of the secret project of the book, when you follow these basic structures of experience towards the end to which they seem to point, you discover that nowhere along that path is there a place for a true metaphysical naturalism to set up shop as a coherent logical position.”
