Lived Theology and Power Workgroup Address

Posted on May 12, 2015 by PLT Staff

Summary of lecture given by Ray Rivera to the Lived Theology and Power Workgroup at the Latino Pastoral Action Center (LPAC) in the Bronx, New York. In the lecture, Rivera describes his entrance to the Pentecostal church and his ministry, which led him to found LPAC. Rivera also reflects on the growth and challenges LPAC has faced and its interaction with the community.

Excerpt: “Webber essentially said ‘if you find me forty people like you, then I’ll get Lilly to fund an undergraduate program.’ Rivera came back with sixty Pentecostals. The program was set up and Rivera received his first exposure to the liberal theological spectrum.”
