Recording of a lecture given by Eugene McCarraher at the Spring Institute for Lived Theology 2008 in Charlottesville, Virginia. McCarraher discusses the need for Christians to reclaim the communist hypothesis that the eradication of class is a central figure of redemption.

Excerpt: “If, as I think, the American empire is in the initial stages of its demise, then we heirs of this beloved community have the chance to inaugurate the most magnificence decline in history. The deliverance of this country from the yoke of overlord-ship, and the steering of American imperial decline to a Renaissance rather than apocalypse.”
