Albert J. Raboteau on “American Salvation” and Other Writings

Class seminar given by the late Albert J. Raboteau, Henry W. Putnam Professor of Religion Emeritus at Princeton, during his 2009 visit with the Project on Lived Theology. He discusses his essays, including “American Salvation,” and his memoir A Sorrowful Joy. Raboteau uses his own narrative to relate to theological writing. Albert J. Raboteau passed away on Sept. 18, 2021. Read his New York Times obituary (Oct. 13, 2021) to learn more about this amazing scholar.
