The Rev. Dr. Ralph E. Luker was an ordained minister in the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church. He taught in the history and religion departments of Allegheny College, Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Lincoln University, Antioch College and Morehouse College. His involvement in the civil rights movement was a pivotal experience that shaped his professional work, and he served as a senior editor of Volumes I and II of The Papers of Martin Luther King, Jr. He died in August 2015.
Luker was a consultant for the Lived Theology and Power Workgroup.
