Paul M. Gaston

Paul Gaston was an Emeritus Professor of History at the University of Virginia. He died in June 2019. Read an article about his life and work here.

Gaston was deeply involved in the Charlottesville community and the Civil Rights Movement. He received many awards and honors, including the Arabella Carter Award for Community Service and the Legendary Civil Rights Activist Award from the Charlottesville-Albemarle branch of the NAACP.
